Is your child starting school in September 2021?
We would love to hear from you!
Due to the current restrictions in place because of COVID-19, we are unable to hold our usual 'school tours' for prospective parents. We are currently in the process of filming a 'virtual tour' of the school which will be available on this website by the end of September.
The headteacher will be holding 3 Zoom meetings for prospective Reception 2021 parents this term on the following dates/times:
Tuesday 6th October at 7.30pm, Tuesday 3rd November at 7.30pm and Tuesday 1st December at 7.30pm.
Applications need to be completed online on the county Admissions website by 15th January 2021.
You may be the parent of a child just about to start school. Starting school for the very first time is an exciting experience for your child. For you it might be the first contact you have had with a school since your childhood. Or you may be a parent who has just moved to the area and need to settle your child into a new school. Whatever your reason for looking at our school it will be a time where you want to make the best possible choice for you and your family.
Here at Houghton we strive to make you and your child feel welcome and to make their experience of school a happy and rewarding one. Our aspiration is that the school community will reflect all that is best in society. One of the most satisfying aspects of my role is being able to work in partnership with a variety of people who share a common vision about the development of every child within a caring and supportive environment. The school team works together to make everyone’s time with us as enjoyable and fruitful as possible. Within the school prospectus documents below we hope to give you a flavour of life at Houghton Primary School together with information which we hope you will find helpful.
It is impossible to convey everything that you will want to know. Please make an appointment to come and see for yourselves. We look forward to meeting and working with you.
Our catchment area is defined as the villages of Houghton and Wyton, excluding the houses which were formerly part of RAF Wyton and excluding the new housing development in St Ives West, south of Houghton Road. Wyton-on-the-Hill is not within of our catchment area.
