Whole-School Attainment 2022

(All results provisional until validated by DfE in December 2022)

We are delighted with our results, they are a real testament to the hard work our staff and pupils put into teaching and learning at Houghton Primary School.

Early Years Foundation Stage

In the Early Years Foundation Stage, children are assessed against a number of areas of learning, and to attain the GLD (Good Level of Development) they need to have achieved the expected standard in both literacy and maths, as well as the three prime areas of learning: personal, social, emotional development; physical development; communication and language.

We are delighted that 76% of our pupils attained “Good Level of Development.”

Year 1 Phonics Check

In Year 1, the phonics check is used to assess childrens word reading skills or ‘decoding skills’  The phonics screening check contains 40 words divided into two sections of 20 words. Both sections contain a mixture of real words and pseudo-words (known to the children as ‘alien words’).

We are delighted that 86% of our pupils passes this check.

Key Stage One

At the end of Key Stage 1, children are assessed as working towards the expected standard, meeting the expected standard or working at greater depth.
